At the end of Abraham’s life, he died. At the end of Moses’s illustrious law-receiving career, he died. Even Jesus died (albeit in the middle of his life). At the end of Elijah’s troublemaking career, he was lifted up to heaven in a whirlwind!
Sunday was our last look at the life of Elijah. We spent most of our time on the Ruah of God: the breath that quickened Elijah’s physical and spiritual body—the breath that Elisha asked for a double portion of.
