Last Monday I sat down to prepare a message on Jesus’ most important parable: the Sower and the Seed. As I studied the parable I saw the importance of Isaiah 6 to the meaning of the story: in all three gospels, Isaiah 6 is the centerpiece.
We’re going to tackle this parable in two parts. This past Sunday we looked at Isaiah 6—the almost ungodly calling God gave the prophet. Next week we’ll look at the parable of the sower and see the significance of Isaiah 6 in the life of Jesus.
Note: For some reason I got confused during the message when talking about the words “glory” and “holy”. Let me set the record straight here:
- Holy is a translation of the Hebrew qadesh which fundamentally means “set apart”.
- Glory is a translation of the Hebrew kabod which fundamentally means “weighty”
