Last fall we looked at the stories Jesus told about discipleship. This week we started looking at the first of two stories Jesus told about grace: the parable of the unmerciful servant. We tackled this text in four parts:

  1. Why did Peter ask Jesus if seven times was enough forgiveness?
  2. We took a careful look at the parable itself, especially the amount of money involved!
  3. The first application: are you able to grasp God’s grace?
  4. The second application: are you able to give God’s grace?

We closed the service with communion: the ultimate symbol of God’s grace to us.

Next Sunday should be pretty exciting: Pastor Wendy’s speaking as the guys are away on the men’s retreat (doing spiritual things, of course). We’ll look at the second story about grace the week following.
