Strengthening our Relationships with Each Other

John said it well:
This is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another (NRSV).
We make all sorts of excuses to avoid the issue. Have you ever heard this one? “I have to love you, but I don’t have to like you!”
To become a healthier church, we need to strengthen our relationships with—our love for—one another. We can do that by:
- Taking responsibility for our own character first.
- Repairing the failed relationships of our past.
- Actively moving beyond our own clique to extend our circle of friends.
By strengthening our relationship with God, with each other, and with the community we will become a healthier church than we were before—and healthy things grow.
