I think as Christians if we were to be honest with ourselves to others, i think that we would find that we would sound at various times in our lives, like the writer of Ecclesiastes in his despair. David in a number of the Psalms speaks of the despair that he feels (Psalm 10,13,22,30,31,35...) In the words of Jesus "he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike." It does not mean that we stay in that place of despair or that we do not have a God that hears our cry.
Also we can look at the book of Ecclesiastes in its parts and not get the meaning the writer is intending to say in its whole.

13Everything you were taught can be put into a few words:

   Respect and obey God!

This is what life is all about.

14God will judge everything we do,

even what is done in secret,

   whether good or bad.
